And what were you trying to insure then Michael?

This is the company that asked J Clarkson if the Bugatti Veyron he was trying to insure was a Volvo...

Oh one of those without a call centre in the UK then . . . . enough said!

I got a £7000 quote to insure a four year old 1.4 fiesta when I first learnt to drive. I have no idea how they work their prices out

I hope that's with the 15% Online discount!

How much???

Are they taking the p*ss or what?

What are you trying to insure---a flipping Ferrari?

I'd give that company a really good swerve if I were you!

this is for my 1.25 fiesta!!!

i was horrified, third party was a whole £100 cheaper

these are priced bcause they dont want your business... its like on confused.com have really expensive quotes, they simply priced to not have your business.

Direct line...cheapest for me everytime!

Direct line...cheapest for me everytime!

I found Direct Line to be expensive--whereas confused.com; compare the meerkat; go compare; tesco compare etc etc are the best places to go as most of the time they will trounce companies who are not on any comparison website.

I saved nearly £900 with direct line! They were the only company that would take on my no claims from my bike policy. Even when I typed in my no claims on gocompare.com it still worked out around £100 cheaper to go with direct line and you get alot more foe your money... Getting hit by an uninsured driver for example

I think most people have a company that is cheapest for them every time - it all depends on personal circumstances.

For me, it's Virgin. Directline are silly money for me as are Aviva.

Make sure you go through Quidco - think of the cashback you will receive lol

Hey Michael

It might be worth taking a look at Quinn Direct (http://www.quinn-direct.com).

They're an insurance company based in Ireland (although they provide cover for UK drivers) who specialise in insuring younger drivers. Even at the age of 24 they're still working out the cheapest for me.

I think the whole car insurance market is one big scam to be honest. I appreciate that it needs to be there in case of accidents but the criteria they use to determine prices is absurd.

Ian

I am using Quinn for my daughters car (she is on provisional license atm)

quinn direct is perfect for learner drivers but then as soon as you pass it shoots up to a rediculous amount

yeah agree, it doubles, but it was still cheaper than anywhere else, get a couple of years clean driving out the way and you will see the premium start to fall again.

Know how you feel michael, sucks being young doesnt it!?

car insurance wise its pretty crap yeah!!

What's been your cheapest quote then? Elephant and Admiral seem to be quite cheap and you only need 10 months to get one year no claims. I think Sheila's wheels was cheapest for me but you fail their qualifications!

Not being nasty but is your car even worth that amount. No wonder people don't bother and drive around uninsured!
