Mondeo Mk4 Sport Fog Lights

Featured Replies

The current (standard) fog lamps on my Mondeo are quite worn looking...they have scratches and marks on them and tend to fog up alot ironically.

I'm going to replace them with new units altogether but I'm quite tempted to go with the sport fog lamps that come on the Titanium X sport versions. There seems to be good few replica versions on ebay.

One thing I've noticed though is the sports fogs use H8 bulbs which are usually only 35w in comparison to the standard fogs which are h11 55w.

I find the standard fogs on the Mondeo quite good so I'm wondering would I be sacrificing performance for looks if I go with the H8 sport fogs or are they reasonably good as well?

Surely you only use your FOG lights in foggy conditions and not general driving in which case you will not be able to tell any difference

I do normally only use my fogs in foggy conditions but working shift work and starting at 4 in the morning often means I encounter early morning fog that the average 9 to 5 workier wouldn't.

I currently find the standard Mondeo fog lights quite good and they definitely light up the road immediately in front of the car and curbs in foggy conditions. I take my lighting very seriously so what I'm trying to establish is using fog lamps that only use a 35w H8 bulb would that greatly decrease the performance of the fog lights

There are some 80w led cree lamps in h8 fitting on ebay ?? Then you can have the sports fogs and better lighting :-)
