Keyfree Or Not Keyfree...that Is The Question

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've been to look at a 2010 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium X today (its got a build date of 21 September 2009). Whilst it has this build date I think that it is the pre-update version.

Anyway, when I went to see it, I assumed it was keyfree. It is, but only for the ignition. When I got home I logged onto ETIS, but ETIS says...

  • Keyfree System
  • With Keyless Start

Now that's really got me confused..is it, or isn't it keyfree entry?!

In advance, i'd like to say thank you for your answers.

normally you dont get lock doors with keyfree starting of the car, unless of course it was modified by the previous owner.

I would suggest its keyfree all round.

Keyfree System is more of a heading with the actual installed options below. In ph80's and my own case we only have with keyless start listed under that heading which means keyless push button engine start but regular remote central locking.
