Best Polish/wax To Use Opinions

Featured Replies

Bit extreme for me. I won't be buying any machine. Just wondered if the micro fibre cloths were a good or bad idea

I don't use a machine :P but yes, microfibres are a must have!

I use

Wash - dodo juice basics of bling or auto glym

Polish - auto finesse or chemical guys

Seal - chemical guys jet seal

Wax - dodo juice hard candy

Wheels - valet pro bilberry or sonax

Quick detail spray - chemical guys pro detailer

Always use two buckets and two wash mits (top and bottom of car), jet wash or hose, and a drying towel.

Always looking to try new products though :).

Soft 99 king of shine wax

Or Bilt Hamber wax

Top 2 rated waxes in the world

Used both of them, really really good stuff, absolute c u n t to get off though! Tiny bits at a time or you'll never get it off haha

Soft 99 comes from Japan

I think basically what we can establish from this thread is there is no 'best', it's all down to the product and finish people personally like best!

Currently I'm using:

Ultimate snow foam

Gyeon Bathe+ shampoo

Gyeon Wet coat after wash treatment

Gyeon Tire

They had an offer on the Gyeon stuff. Haha.

The base of this though was a thoroughly and carefully washed car. Clayed. Polished with Meguiars Ultimate polish. And then waxed with Autoglym HD Wax.

My car has been getting dive bombed with bird !Removed! all this week at work. I've had to wash it every single day. One day I swear the birds were eating cement as I struggled to shift it. So much so I lightly scratched my bonnet.

Bought some autoglym today and thought I'll double dose it. Ie. Do just the scratch area then do the whole bonnet.

Now feck me. I thought my car was clean and shiney but the little patch I done stood out a mile. Looks good now whole bonnet is done. I need to get whole car done though.

Seeing this thread today prompted me to go out and take advantage of the 3for2 offer at Halfords..

Got me some cleaning stuff!

Ive used that mers finishing wax before and it was pretty good. Not sure how long it lasts compared to other brands, but it applies easily

Yeah I thought I'd give them a go, couldn't find any other decent wax from Halfords around the same price.. Have heard good things about them as well so we'll see how it goes :)

Well, got back from work at 4 and have given my car a good going over with the pressure washer, but of deamon snow foam (average) managed to get pretty much all the little dirty marks off the car..

Then set about wiping her down and letting her dry off. Didn't want to waste time so applied SRP to mainly dry paint, worked in sections round the car, leaving around 10 mins before buffing all out - wow! Got to say I'm pretty impressed with the Autoglym products even though they're a household name really easy to apply and you can see the results (even on a white car!) currently waiting for the EGP to dry off then will buff that off, and wax with the last of the light but see below for what the car looked like with the polishing done!!

+1 for Meguiars. Just washed, quick detailed and waxed with it and pleased with the results. post-60710-143275955107_thumb.jpg
