1.8 Tdci Hesitates / Lacks Power At Higher Rpms

Featured Replies

Hi all.

My Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCi hesitates / lacks power at higher rpms.

Could it be the fuel- or airfilter ?

More likely to be fuel filter than air filter, i recommend new fuel filter first & see if there's a diiference.

Is this all of the time or intermittent , do you at any time go into limp mode

I will try the fuel filter at first.

It is not consistent, it's only when I accelerate most.

When accelerating slowly it's not there, or almost not.

It doesn't enter limp mode or like, and no fault lamp come on.

Hi

My 1.8 TDCI is very fussy with fuel... If I put cheaper supermarket diesel in it doesn't seem to run well and can feel hesitant and down on power. I stick to Shell now (with the very occasional treat to Shell V-Power diesel!) and it runs much sweeter!
