Fuel Pump Problems

Featured Replies

i bought a mondeo mark 4 ,57 plate mondeo edge in august 2013,since then the fuel pump has gone 3 times and is costing a packet to replace, today its gone again .the only way i can start it is to thump the fuel tank whilst turning the ignition over.any ideas anybody,im about !Removed! off with it.

Who has told you it's the pump. I know of 2 people who had the EML come on and the diagnostics said it was low fuel pump pressure meaning the pump needed replacing. It turned out in both cases that the fuel filter had never been replaced and was blocked causing low fuel pressure and throwing on the EML and the fault code.

Try to change fuel filter with a good one, I recommend manufacturer MANN.
