Hissing From Dashboard When Air Con On

Featured Replies

Hi,

Every time we travel a distance more than around town and we are using the Air Con we get a loud hissing noise (sounds like a gas bottle being turned off and on) coming from the dashboard area on the drivers side. The sound lasts for about 10-15 seconds and there isn't a pattern.

We have taken it back to our dealer who said they can't find a problem and after producing a sound recording they said it was normal.

I don't believe Fords would make a car with annoying hissing sound coming from the dashboard, if you have any idea what this could be then please can you advise us.

Our car is a 2011 Mondeo TitaniumX 2.0L TDCI

Thank you.

Have you tried to change pollen, cabin filter ?

it sounds like its leaking from the air vents, but if its after long runs, it could be related to the DPF regenerate, are you sure its an air noise and your not mistaking the fan noise?
