Mk3 Mondeo Persistant Mis-fire

Featured Replies

I have a 2001 mondeo 2.0 duratec with a persistant idling mis-fire upto 1500 revs and its not slight either i have tried strong injector cleaner. Replacing the injectors and rail, plugs ht leads and coil pack still to no avail i have also ran a compression test on it cylinder 1 and 2 are at 135psi and 3&4 at 138psi i am running at out ideas the ford mechanics want to charge me 90 quid for a basic diagnostic however i have also plugged in an obd2 reader in the vehicle and has given me a reading of 2 codes "random and/or multiple misfire" and "cylinder 1 misfire" i have cleared the codes the problem persists but the codes dont come back either. I hope someone can help

Did you fit an oem coil pack? These can sometimes be faulty and therefore it doesnt solve your problem.

Have you checked all inlet pipes and the inlet manifold for leaks?
