Cure.... Rattle From Rear Hatch Mk4 2010 Mondeo!.

Featured Replies

For about 4 weeks I've been trying to trace an annoying buzz/rattle from the rear hatch area of my mk4 mondeo.... Driving me mad!

First I put rubber tap washers between number plate and body to stop it rattling... Didn't work

Then I put self adhesive foam inside rear hatch interior plastic panels.... Didn't work

Tried foam pads between main rear hatch panel and body near boot catch..... Didn't work

Padding between rear badge area and body...... Didn't work

Checked tools and spare wheel were secure .... Didn't work

Checked for loose items under seats etc ...... Didn't work

Checked exhaust heat shield....... Didn't work

Finally today .... In the boot on near side I removed the felt inspection panel where you gain access to the rear lights.... In there are two fuse boxes... The lids of these (one clear one black) were very rattly. Took both covers off.... Stuck some foam pads inside the lids for a tighter fit .... Put lids back on then wrapped a cable tie (2joined) around whole fuse boxes .. (Bottom to top)..... Finally stopped this annoying rattle. !!!!!!!!!!

Have I missed a common fault here...??????
