Reversing Light Switch On 1.8 Petrol Mondeo

Featured Replies

I am about to change the reversing light on my 1.8 litre petrol Zetec, but before I do, I need to know the torque wrench settings I should use,

Any ideas?

I replaced mine about 6years ago when car had 39k on it,I just nipped it up tight but not forced tight....no problems to date fella,I don't have a torque wrench as I don't really need one, same goes for wheels and never had an issue with them either!!

Now if I needed to put an engine back together after dismantling it then I would use a torque wrench...the Haynes Manuel I have is for the 05-07 mk3 and the section on reverse switch removal + replacement say's

"Unscrew switch from transmission housing"

"Refitting is the reversal of the removel procedure"

no mention of a torque setting so don't worry fella

Thanks for your help. All the advice I've had has been much the same (ie nip it up), so that's what I did. My OCD got the better of me and I took it out, cleaned the area again and refitted it, checked the lights worked (both okay) then ran the engine for ten minutes while I looked for leaks. So far so good.

No problem fella.
