Helo

I just completed my project copying the idea from new Audi A8. I made the Matrix/sequence turn signals in the DLRs in Mondeo mk4FL

Now the project is in testing phase. Before i will start to apply it in the cars, not only in Mondeo i need at least 6 month for check the durability.

Tell me what do You think

I hope this is a proper category on the forum:)

Cheers!

Yea I saw this on an Audi on the motorway and it looks pretty sweet. I think its better suited to the Audi as the lenght of the LED is long, so you really see it "flow", but still I think it looks pretty good on the Mondeo.

Agree, more means better. I added one more diode, so there is now 5 yellows not 4 like in orginal drl.

I don't like it, flashing out of sync with the indicators, one or the other but not both, oh and I hate DRLs too, marks judging distance and speed harder IMHO

what? they are perfectly synchronised with the turn signal. There is no way that they could flashing out of sync, because every flash reset the program, and the sequence = time of orginal turn signal. Recommend to watch the movie again ;)

Ok, how about this. Standard indicator in headlight being lit permanently like some American cars have, and your unit as the main indicator? Can that get official certification? I like the concept and think there would be a market at the right price. But it does look a bit odd with the standard indicator. I'd be interested in a Focus Mk2.5 version if possible, the one thing that really annoys me is the indicator being on the inside edge, makes it harder to see.

This still in testing phase. Of course i can turn off the main indicator. According to the certification i will check the possibilities when i complete the testing.

If, as it seems, your intention is to sell this as a product, there would be a whole load of requirements to meet, depending on where you would be intending marketing this; eg, all of the EU automotive marking requirements (which imply all the stuff like EMC and other environmental testing, etc, and that's not cheap), and things like ISO 7637.

(You don't say where you are located, other than 'Non-UK', and there may be local regulations there, that may or may not be relevant. If that is in the EU, and that's where you intend selling it, then there is good news and bad news; the good news is that there is a single set of regs covering the EU, the bad news is that the regs really are quite extensive and require formal product reviews, etc.)

In general, it really isn't worth it, for something like this, so you may want to think of another approach.

I quite like it, although would prefer the main indicators not to flash as well as the LEDs .

I would also rather all the LEDs flash together at once, rather than in sequence. But that's just my personal preference :)

Looks pretty cool though

Nice. The new Mondeo has this style of indicators if you get the LED lights option.
