It's a while since I've posted and seem to be very angry a lot (which I still am) but will try harder to control it, I think i slated the site and lack of help from members, I should know and remember that a lot of people including myself look at posts but don't answer probably because they don't know.

I know this is a great site with a lot of good people and a lot of knowledge and help, I probably go about the wrong way, and I appologise for that

I'm trying to sell my car (not here though) as I really miss the space of an estate....but I've had no interest at all, just to ask....is £1250 ok for an 03 1.8 tdci Ghia....if it's not allowed to say that here just remove it and tell me where I can ask

But as the title says, I'll try and be a bit calmer and not so abusive...things/life get to much at times, as it does for a lot of others too

Thanks for reading :)

Ah don't worry about it ya grumpy eejit. It is frustrating to have an issue that needs a quick response and not get one, I do personally try to comment on these even if I don't know the answer. If I don't know the answer I say so, but at least the OP doesn't feel ignored.

Just remember everyone on here is human and has varying levels of responsibilities, and he who may know the answer may be doing summat else entirely.

As to your question you posted, do you have any more info on the car? It all comes down to condition at that money.

:)

Pm'd ye details of the car, see what you think

have it for sale on autotrader

  • Author

It's costs a fortune now...just dumbtree and couple of other places I use

Ebay the car? Perhaps do starting bids at 1000, with a reserve of 1250

  • Author

I can't due a friend a year ago playing funny burgers, I can only buy

Hmm a friends ebay account perhaps?

  • Author

I think only one guy I know uses it I'll ask him if not I'm screwed

My farther in law recently tried to sell his vauxhall zafira to buy his new focus had it up everywhere for a month no interest and his new car was ready for collection so ended up trading it in

  • Author

I won't be buying new, but I can maybe see it traded it to someone again, and lost enough as it is, there's nothing selling though and it's not overpriced, most folk just don't have the cash or if they do they're watching how it's spent....it's obviously not for a car...or not a focus diesel

I spotted my old Corsa in the dealer, he's not shifting it or anything else either.... 05 (55) 1.4 design with 54000 for £1900 (1895) he's dreaming

I think that the issue is that their are some cheap lease deals to be had that the used car market (epically private) is dieing out

  • Author

I know especially when you're often getting no interest with some, free servicing, mot's ect ect

When I think about it...there's only 3 in this street (and it's not that long) that have old cars (8-10 yrs) me and 2 others, says it all really

Sound like your aware of the deals to be had, have you considered part exchange?

  • Author

Yea im thinking about, I need to weigh things up though as my days are being cut and what I could afford...if anything

I'd gladly keep the focus if it was an estate

So guess your wanting a focus estate now?

  • Author

Yea...I should have waited for the right deal and car but impatience and a corsa 1.4 got the better of me

Well keep us posted with the sale and new car :)

  • Author

Will do.....Someone phoned earlier about it said they'll come tomorrow so see what happens

I'm glad stu that you are on board a bit more now. We don't mind grumpy people, as we have plenty here lol

Starting afresh, welcome to the club and I hope overall we can help you and hopefully you feel you can contribute too

Thanks :)

I just need to try and be more patient and less angry

I know he would you feel, my stress and anger mean often I want to strangle most the people I interact with in person lol

Stu, have a look at Cmax's too, they are so versatile as the rear seats just unclip to remove them and then you have a minivan. I used mine moving house twice and also during both house renovations, tip runs etc. It saved me a fortune in skip and van hire! I would recommend a petrol model but if you need diesel go for the 1.6 or 2.0 as there are alot of issues with injectors on the 1.8's. DPF's can be problematic too.

I had my 1.6 petrol Zetec on an 07 plate and the only problem i had in 5yrs of ownership was a hole in the aircon condenser from a stone hitting it. A great car with good looks too once i had put the Titanium 18" alloys on and lowered it a bit.

Don't go for a 1.6TDCi...you'll be even more grumpy! :P

I must admit, the price seems a bit high to me, unless it's very low mileage and/or immaculate. But if someone wants it, they'll pay at the end of the day! I over-paid for mine due to time and distance restraints, and it's not the first one I've overpaid on.

Just out of interest, what is it you need the space for? I've found the Focus hatch load-space to be well sized tbh, just moved house in it with no problems lol.

Thanks, must admit I've never looked at them don't know why but haven't, yea I'll be keeping away from dpf, I had a 1.6 petrol about a year ago in the focus but didn't like it, the engine that is, I'm to used to diesel with the low/mid grunt. But I'll look at the c max

lol....so stay away from the 1.6 tdci, quite bad I take it I gues you mean on power, and yet it's 200cc below the 1.8

I know I paid to much for this and embarrassed to say but will.....£1550 :( .....I got 1200 trading in the Corsa

I know what you mean, no it's not immaculate, 111000 mot's about 9 months now, but for some reason the sills at the back rotted it was an advisory but he got it patched up and christ is it patched....the guy's a conman I know that now. So like you say, maybe the £1250 I'm asking is still to high, if so I'll loose ALOT in the few months I've had it

It's not so much I need the space of an estate I'm used to it, they're more versatile ect, it's mainly for the dog (big black lab, and I mean big, he's obviously mixed with something) as I don't like him in the back seat, I know it's easy with leather as nothing sticks ie no fur like cloth I still use a waterproof cover though. But as I say, I just prefer estates as the ones I had were straight in, no "lip" like on a hatch.

Someone's supposed to come tonight to see it so who knows, but if or when it sells, I'll take a hell of a dunt loosing cash :(
