Mk3 Mondeo - Air Noise Under Acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I am getting a noise which can only be described as rushing air/fan like, under acceleration, it then disappears when I push down the clutch.

Is this likely to be a clutch issue/replacement required?

I cannot recreate the noise when the car is stationary, only when moving.

It does have the EML light on, but was told when I picked it up Friday eve that it is a CO2 sensor...

Kind regards

Martin

Sorry, should have said. It is a 2.0 petrol.

C02 sensor is lamda sensor right? If yes then i cant imagine how that could make that sound. Ok if the hole where its screw in is F$#KUP that could make some air/whistling sound ,but wont make sense that it stop when u press down clutch. I gues it could be faulty clutch release bearing.

Loose inlet manifold, has somebody addressed the flap issue with it being the 2.0petrol

and inadvertently left something loose or a hole...apparently you need to use a very tough sealent like tiger seal...when you remove the swirl flaps the little spindles that they hang off, leave a little hole that has to be sealed up..?
