5 door Fiesta Titanium 1.6 TDCi, Colorado red, rear parking sensors, lumbar support, towbar. Sorry it's not as exciting as some of the examples you guys have, my XR3i days were over 20 years ago! I gather from one of the polls that red isn't that popular but I believe no-one can ever use the excuse that they didn't see me, that theory has worked for the last 15 years with my Cav.
I actually really like the Mk7 in Red now after seeing more and more in real life! And at least it stands out better than my boring silver

You'll have to post some pictures when you get your Fez, to try and change some more people's opinions on Red :P

We are getting a 3-door Zetec 1.4 in Colorado Red. As you say, it was initially a bit of a slow-mover in people's colour choices, but I think it's very gradually gathering pace as more are being seen on the roads. I'll also be posting some pics when I eventually get the car as there seems to be a bit of a lack of red cars on the gallery at the moment.

I agree about the red hopefully standing out though, so there's less excuse for not being seen by idiots! I live out in the sticks, but our gate is on a busy A-class main road, (60MPH speed limit - although most seem to do more), just round a sweeping blind bend. As the council won't let us put a mirror up on the opposite side of the road, we literally have to turn off the engine and 'listen' to hear if the road is quiet - then very quickly start the engine and leg-it as quickly as possible before anything comes. (Not a brilliant system, but we've got no other choice, and it's worked okay for the last eight years - got it down to a fine art!). Anyway, cutting a long story short, we deliberately chose red as we thought it would be a 'safer' colour for people to see, (as well as hopefully looking good).

Sarc.

I usually find that tailgater is a synonym for "executive saloon driver".

I can't stand them. If they want to speed and crash then fine, I have no problem with that. But it's a blatant disregard for other driver's safety to be that close the the back end of a car.

However, I must admit, on if I'm being 'gated on slower roads I do slow down to a near stop. I like to slow right down as I pass each junction and act like I'm lost and looking for my turn off. Occassionally I flick the indicator on and then off again for that authentic clueless, lost driver feel.

It never happens to me during the day. It's only at night when it's dark.

My friend has minature camera's fitted front and rear in her mondeo, with a CD recorder in the boot takes great pics of tailgaters and general idiots..including a motorcycle cop who decided to undertake traffic with out using sirens and strobe lights.....interesting eh....Me i just let my foot of the gas and let the car slowley loose speed......dont think they like doing 25 in a 40 or whatever speed i think to go....they usually come past then.

I had one a few weeks ago (silver van man VW sport transporter).I am doing 30 in a 30 limit coming through the next village to me.(traffic light at bottom of the hill ON RED) he cant get me to go faster,so he pulls sharply out from behind ,floors it,just missed a little kid on a BMX,by now he's up to around 60 in a 30 and straight over the RED light, I couldnt beleive what i just saw.....I cought up with him in my village parked outside the village shop...........all that for perhaps a packet of !Removed!

I guess he's the only man who has

had an Ar** hole transplant .and it rejected HIM

I had a somewhat similar experience, which I subsequently felt quilty for. Someone was tailgating me, almost bumper to bumper at night in a 40 and had been doing so for about 5 minutes in very heavy rain. Flashing their full beams on at me and honking. Needless to say I got somewhat annoyed. There was an abandoned car parked on the kerb up ahead that I knew about, and when I reached it I left it right up until the last minute to swerve out to avoid it. Whoever was driving behind me obviously saw it a bit on the late side, swerved to avoid it and span out on the road and ended up facing the other way. I checked to see that there were no other cars around before I did it as you can see very far up the road both ways, but I would have felt awful if they had crashed.

50% they deserved it, 50% Can't believe I did that

I hate tailgaters with a passion
