Fiesta Mk6 Stereo Replacement Help

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am 17 and just got my first car, a 2006 fiesta zetec with a CD6000 stereo with the AUX button, but no place to plug in the aux.

Being able to play music on my android phone is an absolute must for me, so have been doing a bit of research as to what I could do and would really appreciate some help.

The speakers and standard stereo seem okay to me, but I could follow a couple more options:

  • I could buy a new stereo with an aux but I wouldn't want to spend too much money (max around £50)
  • I could buy a new stereo and new speakers as I might as well buy new speakers with the stereo (max around £100

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. (sorry if the links do not work)

Cheers,

Tim

can anyone help?

Both of those cables are the same thing.

Either of them is fine.

TBH, reviews you've read are probably concerning the oem Ford aux socket which is poor and suffers from a lot of contact alignment problems due to the design of the socket itself.

I'd run the cable so it reaches to the glovebox where it can be tucked tidily out of the way.

Hi Tim,

welcome to the forum,

The best advise i can give you is to install a Parrot Mki9100 Bluetooth kit,

Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351455941850

I am aware this kit is over your stated budget however i assure you it it well worth every penny,

The Mki9100 offers:

3.5mm Aux input

USB input

Full Voice Control

Handsfree phone Call

Built in equaliser

You can stick a load of music on a USB stick plug it in to socket and it will play with no mp3 required,

You can wirelessly stream music from your phone, while your phone stays untouched in your pocket.

I've installed this kit in to a family members car before around three years ago and still going strong.

Best kit on the market,

And you can bring it to your next car if desired.

Very simple plug&play installation,

The control unit is wireless can be mounted on dash via sticky pad or strap to steering wheel,

No wires visible.

In regards to your other options,

If upgrading the existing headunit there's nothing out there for under 300 that will provide what one would expect from an upgrade,

The same goes for speakers,

If upgrading head unit and speakers around 600 is a good starting point for everything required.

There are adaptor cables available where they filter the existing cables providing RCA inputs,

Could fit one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251273564899

Followed by one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251583225246

Giving you a 3.5mm AUX socket that you can mount wherever you desire, this socket will also work with the Mki9100 kit.
