Hello all!

I have recently bought a 2008 Mondeo Zetec Hatch and have found this club which I am proud to become a part of! I only bought my Mondeo yesterday and so am still finding things out about it.

One thing I would like to ask you though is that when I turn the car off I hear a sort of buzzing sound as the car powers down. I bought the car from a Garage and he said that it's okay it's just where the car is 'powering down'. I did think this as a bit odd as I have never heard anything like this in previous cars that I have owned. Does anyone, or has anyone, had this same sound, or has experienced it in any way?

I also have an issue with the SatNav system - something about needing the original data disk - the guy at the garage again said that this is something that I can pick up for about £20 or so - does anyone know where I can get this from?

The car has gone through a full service and MOT just before I bought it and so I thought that if it was a genuine issue then it would have been picked up?

There are a few bumps and scrapes on the car that can be sorted - other than that I am pleased with it! Just need some advice on the two 'issues' above.

Hi Dezwez, thank you for your reply. It seems odd though, it is almost like a high-pitched buzz, almost like a fan of some sort coming to a stop - I just don't expect to hear this when the engine is cut off - I didn't hear it on any of the other vehicles I took for a test drive - so it just makes me think what could it be?

My Focus does this and same with my mums Mondeo which is 2009 2.0L Zetec, my dads Focus Ghia makes a really loud power down xD,

I'm glad that someone else experiences this also - do you know of, or are aware of, any reasoning for this, or what it is exactly?
