i have a mondeo tddi on a 02 plate. i drove 400 miles over the weekend and was coming home and the car just died . no warning lights . just died ....... when you try and turn the engine over.... it sounds like it wants to start ..but doesnt ..

i had the recovery out to it last night but the bloke didnt have a diagnostic kit. he checked if it had diesel getting to the engine and it did . but thats as far as he got . he couldnt really do anything else . so he towed me home .

has anyone had this problem before ? and what was the problem ? and how easy was it to fix ?

do they have a timing belt or chain

it has a timing chain

not timing bet broke then get a code reader and see if it give you any ideas

Found the problem. It's the diesel pump . It's knackered.

What would be the scrap value ? As won't bother to fix it

For the sake of a pump fit another, can't be that expensive, or bung it on Gumtree, should get a couple of hundred quid even with a chuffed pump
