Mondeo Mk3 Electrical Fault

Featured Replies

Hi i now have an electrical problem here goes - when i release the boot either with the key or on the dash the rear reg plate lights come on but the reg plate lights do not come on with the lights, when i put the lights on everything seems to work fine except the reg plate lights and the light comes on the dash which says there is a door open???? any ideas riceman1964

i would start by checking the wiring at the tailgate hinge for any damage.

If u take the plastic cover off in the boot that covers the p/s tail light youl find the wiring loom there and also should be an earth stud check the earth is. Tight and cables are connected solid always a good way to start loose earths or corroded can cause alot of problems not saying its definatly the cause but always worth checking
