One of the many problems, as I see it, is that Western powers are damned if they interfere & damned if they don't Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, as bad as he was, was at least reasonably stable, the

  • As a Tax payer in a country which can't house it's own homeless irish national family's which the private banking system has put out on the streets. Yet the government recieves bailouts from Germany

  • This country cannot financially afford mass lmmigration.I have not paid taxes etc all my life for Hospitals, pensions, and much more to have them taken from me when i am going to need them.My retirement

sadly so, but I wonder if the time for intervening and taking control is nigh!

The West is already seeing the consequences of further destabilising already unstable countries & toppling their leaders & there isn't the political will or popular public support for sending any more U.K. service personnel to fight an unwinnable conflict

Intervening can happen - taking control never will - as has been proven in Afghan & Iraq & Libya

Hence remote RAF drone strikes & some manned sorties to disrupt the terrorists

What of course is needed is boots on the ground & neither the US or UK or EU will sanction that anytime soon

Time the Muslim /Arab world sorted their own problems

They have no interest in sorting thier own problems, thats why they are bringing them to us.

Warped religious beliefs & Politics - the root of all evil

And there lies the core of the Worlds problems right now,

These countries that have been offered democracy are electing religious groups,

God will always come before Reason and Debate, so they will vote/fight for their own 'Truth' not a Leader for all,

All Politicians in the West 'should' be working for the benefit for all of us, whether we like them or not.

I like James idea actually...

I don't think the Country is in a position to take them on board. I might sound selfish. But what happens when we do take in so many thousands. will there be more in the future, of course there will. so where will it end.

Look at the homeless situation at the moment. we cant house our own people.

Then we have working family`s who have to use food banks because they cant make ends meet. Jings at one point the only people you ever heard of going to food banks were the poor people. ok I cant define poor people but hopefully you all know what I mean.

But like I say. now its hard working family`s that even have to use the likes of food banks which is a joke.

We should be looking after our own first. Yes I might sound selfish by saying that. but hey the old saying is charity begins at home.

Ok we arnt living in war torn terrorised Country`s but we have our own problems.

Plus the fact isis has openly said they will be sending trained terrorists into the western world as refugees to do harm. So how do we know who we are actually bringing into the Country.

If most people in the United Kingdom were totally honest and the Government tried to house some of these unfortunate people next door to them, They would kick up a stink. Sorry to say that but they would. would I. Effin right I would.

Let Sturgeon take them in. she said she would.

The way this Country is going. There wont be a retirement age by the time I want to retire. Most people wouldn't be able to afford to retire.

Who wants to have to work until they draw their last breath. I certainly don't. But if the government keep taking all these people in. House them, give them benefits etc. what is going to be left. not just for us, but our kids and their kids.

Will end up the kids of the future will learn in their history classes that the people of the past used to be able to retire in their older age and live within their means. But not in their day because the country couldn't afford it.

Yes it does sound a bit harsh that some of us don't want our country taking these poor people in.

Iv always worked from I left school. pay my taxes as other members have said. That was suppose to be for my future years. will I see that. I honestly doubt it if I am honest.

I don't know much about this crisis, but I think we need to find a balance between helping the refugees and protecting our own interests. You have to draw that line somewhere because we're never going to completely fix the poverty in our own country.

I agree that out priorities are wrong in some cases though, especially when ex-soldiers are living on the streets. They should be given priority over any migrants when they have risked their lives to protect us.

Which one, or are we on about a different James lol

Your idea of taking over the countries....

The Germans tried that twice & failed, looks like third time lucky . . .

The U.K.'s net daily subscription fee to the E.U. is an eye watering £30 MILLION - every day - think how much good that would do if spent on essentials in the U.K.

Add that to the £12 BILLION per year in Foreign aid HMG spends abroad & it's not too difficult to see that most, if not all the U.K.'s domestic issues could be solved within a few years imo

All the homeless ex service personnel could be housed, food banks would be history, affordable housing could be built, the NHS properly staffed, etc, etc , ad infinitum

^ I'd like to know how much we get back from that £30m each day, I doubt it's anywhere near enough to break even though lol.

Nothing - that's the net payment - the gross payment is circa £50 million per day

The rebate would have been bigger but the idiot Blair gave it back

They are annoying me... All that money wasted overall. The eu needs to allow it's counties to get itself in order. All creditors in the UK accept debt repayment options when you are stuck, because they know the more they take when you need it, the worse your life becomes... Shame the eu can't have that sensible logic.

I was thinking about donating some money towards helping the refugees but wasn't sure where to donate to, then spotted this on Google:

https://onetoday.google.com/page/refugeerelief/

It's really good that they're matching donations, so I donated a little earlier today.

HMG has already donated £1 billion of U.K. taxpayers cash to the Syrian refugee camps

HMG has already donated £1 billion of U.K. taxpayers cash to the Syrian refugee camps

Which means I dont need to feel bad when i say no to chuggers in the street.

Yep . . . as a taxpayer you're donating anyway !

HMG has already donated £1 billion of U.K. taxpayers cash to the Syrian refugee camps

That means I had probably already donated more through tax than I donated through Google lol.

You're a generous man Phil - well that's the rumour anyway . . . :)

On the topic of donations anyone want to donate to my honeymoon fund?

I'm a poor pensioner down to my last mill or two - but I'm sure I can find the odd 10 shillings to help you out :)
