Have you tried replacing the bulb?

Didn't want to waste money buying a bulb if it was the wiring as I would just change it to LED's

it is yes,

I was going to suggest trying that since your replacing it in glovebox anyway.

or the bulb from the interior map lights

Don't have the internal map/reading lights only the one light. Il try strip the g/box out again when I get a chance.

Just to inform:

A triple unit is a straight swap to the existing courtesy light.

O.O ... Another thing to add to my list. Haha, you should stop giving me ideas :p.

I was sitting in Halfords the other day (don't remember what I was doing in there mind) and I was looking at their colour match spray paints and got thinking... How stupid would it look if I painted the black stock spoiler to match the car... I know you get some fords with similar spoiler to mine except its the colour of the car instead...

Also how would the finish look if the material is bumpy.

much better purchasing an ST spoiler mate,

Straight swap items and looks alot better from both rear and side of the focus.

Ford also sell a colour coded panel that bonds over your existing spoiler but the ST one would look the best.

I suppose I'm just after a quick fix to make it look good.

If your going to do it might as well do it properly. I've seen them for about £85... Although Il still have to respray it :/

body shops aren't that expensive to be honest,

Halfords colours don't match neither mate,

Some 3M carbon wrap on the existing one would be about it in terms of a cheap sustainable mod.

I suppose black wont look too bad when I do my alloys, get them black and see how it looks with a black spoiler then.

Will the mk 2.5's all white rear lights be a straight swap?

If you're looking for something to do to the focus that doesn't cost alot but is quite effective;

You could purchase some Hammerite smooth finish silver paint in a tin,

Mask up the brake discs and paint the spacer section between brake discs and alloy wheel,

Also cleans up the rear drums if fitted.

Some caliper paint looks great too.

If go for mountune yellow on your colour of focus.

A LHD reverse light with red bulb cleans up the rear,

Can also modify to dual reverse light.

Carbon wrap wing mirror covers,

Silvatec indicator bulbs look chrome but flash Amber

Cree H11 front fog bulbs look like 6000k HID straight swap

there a straight swap in terms of fitment to the car,

But you need to chop the loom from clear units and splice on the loom from existing units.

The facelift loom plug is different.

it's been done and documented on here though is 100% possible and looks great.

Here's an example on my car.

Disc centres coated with zinc primer & calipers painted canary yellow :)

Hmm, I like a few of those ideas. Wont wrap the mirrors, I like them matching.

Definitely like the idea of cleaning up those rusty ole drums. And the spacers... Well I never even paid attention to them before. But looking now I can see how they'd look nice silver.

Il look into bulbs, I want brighter front lights, but don't know what to go for yet (haven't looked into it yet) although my track record of buying bulbs ain't great so far as I ordered LED's for courtesy light just to realise I ordered bulbs about 20mm too short :S

Thanks for the pics Ginger flame, that does look good. I was thinking of doing calipers either yellow or blue. But I thought if I do them blue, will it be too much blue for the car.

I've also painted by drums with black hammerite

Images should return on Sunday 1st November

Also my build thread here:

I recommend Osram NightBreaker Plus

in H7 low beam and in H1 high beam

then some Cree T10 led parking bulbs

and Cree H11 led in front fogs.

Rear I recommend silvatec offset pin indicator bulbs,

Cree BA15s led reverse bulb,

Cree BA15s red led fog light

Also fit a LHD reverse light unit.

Boot light is still tempermental, saw it working again the other day =/ thought maybe the bulbs contacts were temperamental, so bought new bulbs, still nothing.

So i guess I am changing the light out. however i was thinking, am i going to have to run the cable all the way back to the central lights to power it as these cables are temperamental, or is there another way you can think of checking the wiring (bare in mind i have minimalistic tools)

Also looking at bulbs the other day, i've found two headlight bulbs. the writing on them mean nothing to me so again i'd like some advice,

Xenon Blue - 12V H7 55W Homologation then E4 in a circle.

Xenon Blue - 12V H4 60/55W P43T Homologation and again E4 in a circle.

I have pics of the boxes if that will help?

Cheers again

As said above, check the contacts in the boot switch, which is Part of the lock mechanism. If you're playing with electronics you need a multimeter at the very least

I will look at that as the main interior lights doesn't come on either (only just checked this.)

I have a question on bulbs, as you can see I named two bulbs I was looking at with further research I realized its h7 & h1 I need. But do you need any attachments to use halogen bulbs?

I've got another question. Unrelated to all other things on this topic so far.

I bought the car with an upgraded stereo, its a jvc one. And who ever wired it in wired it to the ignition, so I can't power it when the engine is off. This never used to bother me,

However,

Now I have a job where I'm sometimes cutting the engine and waiting in the car its really starting to bug me.

How easy is it to rewire to a permanent live rather then the ignition? And how I guess is an important factor haha.

Cheers.
