Hi guys, I haven't ever made a thread before here but I needed some help making a decision.

I turned 18 last month and I decided to get out of my poor MK5 freestyle and get myself a new set of wheels I am looking to get a new car January time (when I, touchwood, get 1 years no claims bonus) but I'm not sure what to get...

I'm thinking about the fiesta black edition since it stands out quite a bit! But I have a couple of issues, it doesn't come with Sony DAB so I've been looking at other cars to compare and I went and test drove a Polo SEL and it feels nice to drive and the Polo BlueGT and pretty much fell inlove but I have no idea how they compare to the Zetec s black edition since I've only ever driven the titanium 125 but I fell in love with that too.

Someone help

If you thought the 125 engine was good, wait until you drive the 140.

There's a reason the fiesta is the best selling car in the UK, it's brilliant fun to drive.

I went for the red edition as I preferred the red with black accents.

It does man! Is there a massive difference between 125 and 140? I know it has DAB but not the Sony interface, just the ford one... You know what kids are like It's all about the appearance!

Certainly feels like it, almost a second quicker to 60, lovely little engine noise and turbo whistle, start stop as standard and hill hold assist!

Didnt bother me with the sony interface it links up to spotify on my phone easy enough through bluetooth !

If it's all about appearance, DEFINITELY get the fiesta lol it just looks mean.

I'm averaging about 54mpg and I like to put my foot down now and then, I do a lot of dual carriageway driving so cruise control comes in handy!

Damn it man! I mean when I drove the Polo BlueGT with 150ps it did feel epically powerful, does the fiesta feel like that?

I also live on dual carriageways, the ring road surrounding bristol so I'm sure when I get it I'll be doing "70" alot more than in my mk5

The next car I'm getting will be without a black box, they are so restrictive, I cant wait!

See I like the easy to use Ford system but having gadgets is always desirable but it's a car to drive, not to play with

The fiesta feels rapid when you pin the throttle, then you get the overboost kicking in from the turbo which probably knocks another 15-20bhp on top of what you've got so its unreal in a straight line.

Oh I know the polo is ugly! And yeah my dad works for Ford so he said he could get one dirt cheap. Oh yeah I forgot about overboost... how/ when does it kick in? And yeah I've read that review and it put me off getting a fiesta ST (plus 180bhp is a tad insane for an 18 year old!

Yeah it was an easy decision until I drove the polo and was raging the !Removed! out of it and it had a touchscreen But I agree I do prefer the Fiesta and it will save me so much money... Plus I'll have more street-cred with a Fiesta black ;)

Yeah it could be but I'll see what it looks like in real life then decide. Everyone says that the black edition does look strange but I'll have to see both.

I've seen plenty of black editions pass me on the road, and you can't help but notice it instantly. It's not a bad colour scheme, far too loud for my own personal preference. Maybe if I was 13 years younger I would have one, but it's still nice. I'd probably go with a red one like Davem92 has, looks great in his avatar.

I am also quite a fan of VWs though, and Polos are nice cars. The GT has quite a lot of torque for it's size, I'd certainly consider trying to get a proper test drive in both before you decide if I were you. I'd say the Fiesta's interior is nicer (aesthetically) which is where you'd be spending most of your time. Hmm tough choice.

Haha no surprisingly not! I had a 2008 clio, bag of rubbish to be honest had nothing when you put your foot down! got 2500 for it so not bad though!

What are the stock speakers like?

There arent very many in-depth reviews of the red or black that I could find...

Does the red/black have the Sony system?

If so then it is pretty good.

I retro fitted it to my old Fiesta.

I think the Dab radio is an optional extra isn't it? Some cards have it and some don't. . . try to find one that does? (if you're buying used)

Na, just the standard ford system.

Sony is titanium and above mate

Wasn't sure if they included it on the red/black.

Easy enough to upgrade it though. All "8" speakers only cost me £80 from Ford and picked up a HU on ebay for about £250 iirc.

I had the DAB as an extra but it was listed on their website as free, the sony one with navigation was £500 extra.

The speakers are pretty good in this anyway, I don't like my music blasting but it seems pretty crisp :)
