Hi,

The headunit won't have any RCA outputs

however you can keep the existing headunit and fit a low pass RCA adaptor to rear speaker output cables,

This adaptor will pass all bass through the RCA cables to the mono amplifier powering the new sub.

Then fit a controller to the amplifier allowing you to adjust the bass level separate to car audio.

such as this one link:

Alternatively if fitting an aftermarket headunit;

You won't need either of the above items because the headunit will have a sub level adjustment option built in to the software.

You may also like to know;

There is a custom built enclosure available for the mk3 mondeo which will house a 10" sub very tidy in the boot compartment.

Thanks lenny but that sounds way too technical for me might just have to stick with it for now until i get a new head unit. But thanks anyway ☺

no problem,

RCA adaptor just splices in to existing speaker cables giving you RCA aswell.

but an aftermarket headunit would ultimately be better as it will have built in RCA output which is electronically adjustable in consistency with the rest of the equaliser settings 👍
