Error Code

Featured Replies

just had error code P0174 system to lean ( bank 2 ) come up for my 53 plate Mondeo 2.5 v6 Has any one else had this code and if so what was the problem and the fix thx

I had po174&po171 lean on both banks earlier in the summer....has the breather pipe ever been replaced? Mine had a 4 inch split which threw up the fault codes...is your car having any revs issues as this what manifested with having both banks running lean..although only one fault code to begin with ...

To get at the split breather hose might be easier on the 2.5..on my 3.0 the inlet manifold has to come off...

No rev problems the car runs fine apart from in the morning it runs a bit lumpy when its cold but when warmed up its fine . ill cheque the breather hose to see if there's a split and go from there . thx for your help .

Hello fella..this breather hose that's fitted to the inlet manifold lasts about 8 years (mine 9yrs +50k miles) if your motor has never had it replaced it will need to now as your 53 reg is now 12 yes old..it gets overlooked because its in a hard to reach place..on my v6 its between the bulkhead and back of the inlet.....unless you've got unusually small hands its a tight squeeze, I had to take the inlet off..so also replaced the sparkplugs and rocker breathers too...

Although I think the 2.5 v6 is a lot easier to work on..a bit more room but not much...my 3.0 is absolutely shoehorned in..no space at all:lol::lol:
