Hi.

I am new to the forum and as a new owner of Mondeo mk4 1.8 tdci with 6 speed gearbox I need an advice please. I have bought the car a couple of days befor and noticed something weird to me but could be nomal. I was travelling on themotorway and I do have a strange feeling that I don't have 5 and 6 gear. Is it me or something is wrong?

    What happens when you select 5th or 6th ?

    Well difficult to say but I can select 1 and 2 then 3 and 4 and when trying to select 5 and moving the gear shifter it don't seems to move thorwards right side and ending up on 3 gear. This is how it feels

    When the car is stationary with the engine off can you select all 6 gears ?

    I have lifted the gator up and tried to shift the gear I can see the difference between 1, 2 but I can not tell if selecting 3,4 or 5,6 as no visual different in gear selector position

    I have done more testing and gear selector is able to shift in to 5 and 6 but gearbox does not shift. Is this a matter of adjusting the linkage? If yes how to do it. Please help
