2005 Mondeo Cruise Control Switches Light Up?

Featured Replies

Or maybe the question is should they light up, mine don't.

If thats the way they are, then fine, I'll live with it, but having to feel your way to the cruise control switches after dark (which frankly this time of year is both journeys to and from work) is far from ideal.

Wondered if someone else with a similar vehicle could have a look at theirs and let me know. If so, does anyone know if its just a case of changing a bulb or fuse?

The cruise control works perfectly, it seems to be just the lights on the steering wheel switches that don't work, if there ever was any.

Hope this explaination makes some form of sense.

Thank you in advance my learned friends.

No lights on the switches on my 2009 focus never has been

No. they don't illuminate sadly - I too found this annoying on my old 05 plate Mondeo ST TDCi

Can confirm they don't light up,

I only use the cruise control very rarely, but have found it annoying at night having to blindly press on..off...auto... and + and - speed....although when used regularly you do become familiar with the order and no need to then take your eyes of the road...I would reckon its really tricky to illuminate being a steering wheel...

Thanks guys. That's all I needed to know. I am unfortunately one of those people where if something is fitted, it has to work, but if they were never meant to light up, then I shan't worry about it.

Now 3 days into driving this car, and absolutely loving it, considering its a "reps car" its absolutely brilliant for me. Goes like that stuff off a shovel, and damn cheap to insure. Makes me wonder why I didn't buy one of these years ago when I was actually working in a ford dealership.

Cheers again!

Thankfully Fraud sorted this on newer models :)

I was thinking if was possible to put led strip to light them up but feeding wires under airbag is a no no.
