Hi all thanks for letting me into the forums. I have a 2009 Mk4 Mondeo hatch 1.8 diesel edge, very very pleased with it had it for twelve months Sian (thats the cars name) does about 60ish mpg.

Now i don't know if i should ask the question here or do i ask somewhere else on the forum but here goes,

The right hand swicthes on the steering wheel are not working so i cannot change the trip or the clock or scroll to anything.

Is there any way of resetting it or is a fuse or any adivce would be welcome.

Regards

Hi welcome :)

Hi. Welcome to the Forum.

Hello and Welcome Chas :)

Welcome :)

Try some electrical contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol in the switch base where the contacts are - this is a common issue on many Frauds

Thanks for info but how do i get the cleaner on the contacts do the buttons pry off or something (before i get me screwdriver out).

Regards

I've not levered the top off myself, so you could try to gently lever it up even just a bit with something that won't damage the trim & then squirt a little electrical contact cleaner in from several different angles to get good coverage.

If the top of the switch does come off it will be easier & you may also be able to remove some grime that may be causing the issue

Well that did the trick, i just lifted the rocker switch slightly and working now but will get some electrical cleaner and spray it into the switch. Any way thanks Mark for the advice.

Regards

Sorted :)
