Shaking Steering Wheel When Braking

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've started experiencing shaking on the steering wheel when braking. It does it whether i brake gently or hard but doesn't do it all the time. Also there is no knocking noise when braking either. I know my tracking is out and i will be getting it sorted ASAP. Could this be just down to the tracking or could be something like a warped disc?

Many thanks

Dan

sound like warped disc to me ,

Could be the drop links don't normally feel a warped disc under gentle braking in my experience

i 2nd warped disk/s,mine was doing this a few months ago, felt like the car was goner shake itself to bits.

It's actually not likely warped discs, but rather inconsistent pad transfer to the disc itself.

I had the same on mine and it would come and go within a couple weeks. I attributed it to cheap pads and rotors. Sometimes it was more violent than others.

There are some fixes. The safest is having the rotors machine turned to remove those deposits.
