Snowflake On Dashbord

Featured Replies

My Focus only has an orange warning, if it drops below 5, it is on. This was mine this morning, lol:

Perhaps Ford were getting too many people worried about a red dashboard light, so opted to take it out and just use the orange one.

My Focus is the same, but the Mondeo's goes red @ zero - the oddity of Frauds never cease to amaze me

Perhaps because your Mondeo started its production life earlier so still had the red snowflake...?

Quite a lot of overlap between Ford cars.

No but it says no on dashboard how many degrees are outside

11 months between build dates

11 months between build dates

Not build dates, but the actual design of the car.

Focus started 2011, your Mondeo started 2007.

That doesn't really work out either though, as my old fiesta 62 plate had the red light whereas my new fiesta 15 plate doesn't- they're both the same design not one face-lift one not.....

Ah well, just put it down to Ford doing strange things.

I would imagine moving forward they will all come without the red one though

Talking about this on fb groups too a guy if a remember he works for Ford said they stopped using it because ppl were taking it into garages when it was red thinking a the engine light is on

Sounds plausible

Mine is a Fiesta Titatinum X 15 plate, goes red below 4 degrees and amber above 4 degrees.

Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

Guess we do need to put it down to fords strangeness or shortage of parts etc. I rekon its a software fault myself now that bays has the red. Not a biggie. I'd be more worried if it only came with 3 wheels

I had a interesting red light experience.

I recently needed to replace the coolant flange on the heater core side on my WQ Fiesta ST (2l Mondeo engine).

As I was driving at a brisk pace, and the revs climbed, the external temp unexpectedly showed -36°C (it was about 29 °C) and the RED LIGHT came on.

I stopped, popped the hood, and saw some coolant sprayed on the inside. Saw no leak. But did see that the heater core hose's clamp was not seated correctly.

I reckon some of the coolant sprayed on the sensor and it bumped the temp over 100 and so it went crazy showing a -36.

This morning it was back to normal and the clamp has been seated correctly.

My car shows a red snowflake on dashboard. Takes about 5 attempts for it to start is there a problem? Only bought 2 weeks ago

It's just telling you to be careful as it's below freezing.
