Mondeo Mk 3 Help....

Featured Replies

Hi all, to cut a long story short - ish haha the metal oil dipstick housing tube broke half way, when trying to remove to fit a new one I think it broke again in the block :( so now I have to remove the sump pan etc....

car is a 05 plate mk3 Mondeo estate 2.0 TDCI

So far I have removed al the 8mm and 10mm bolts that are on the sump, but its still solid, am I missing anything or is it just the 8 and 10mm bolts, I know it also uses a sealer paste, I am aware the sump can be quite fragile so don't want to use excessive force, how should I go about it, hammer a small flathead screwdriver in between and twist.

Or, is there a better way to access the hole where the metal dipstick housing goes in/out of the sump

Thanks
