Radio CD GPS Nav Options on new Fiestas.

Featured Replies

I am trying to finalise my Fiesta radi/nav options and I just can’t seem to be able to find a good description, (pics would be good too) of the options available for the fiesta. I would be interested in the screen size and definition as well as a detailed GPS spec including the chipset and some screen shots as I have a feeling it uses just monochrome screen which is not even a 'Touch Screen'.

As Far as I can tell the options are:-

1 Radio/cd Player with 4 forward speakers Fitted as standard.

2 As above, with added Voice Control plus Bluetooth and USB support with 2 extra speakers in back plus switches on steering wheel.

3 As above, with added GPS using the same monochrome screen as the radio uses. The GPS being basic with no live traffic queue information.

This being the case I see no advantage to option 3 as the Nuvi by Garmin would seem far more adaptable, the new one being live traffic enabled.

I would never have thought that buying something so expensive as a car that it would be so difficult to find out something so basic about premium priced 'extras'.

So Can anyone give me a definitive detailed list of the 'Factory Fit Options' for the Radio VC Nav? And yes I already have spent more time than is reasonable trawling the Fords website. Yes a couple of pics of the screen although not the one in GPS mode, no screen size or spec either.

I think you are on about the new option Bluetooth USV with mobile navigation. We got a fiesta with one so we could play with it. It's exactly the same radio dispaly as a normal radio with Bluetooth but u get a SD card to put in your smart phone. So u need a smart phone and your phone needs to have a memory slot. Then your phone becomes the sat nav and it relays the directions to the radio which will display basic arrows.

That doesn't sound too great. Sounds like you are best with option 2 Nikki. I have a Garmin with live traffic although I never use that option.

Thank you both for that.

I decided to go with option 2, then to get the new Garmin Nuvi 1690 when it is available as Has a large touch screen plus live traffic updates. I still think it really weird that you cannot just download the manual for all the radio options from the ford website. Before I brought my laptop I found the manual read it and made sure they had a manufacturer support line too.
