Parking sensors/reverse lights - ST220

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Checked on ETIS earlier and it turns out that my car does actually have reversing sensors, however they haven't yet come on. I read a post on a different forum that indicated that the sensors run off the reverse lights, and if the reverse lights don't work then the sensors won't work. Someone put up a fix showing how to replace the reverse light switch, but I don't know if this is the correct/only solution.

Can anyone can confirm this, and if so, what the best way of going about repairing the issue would be, as it doesn't appear that the reverse lights are working either.

I need to check the warranty I got from the dealer, but they're down in Bournemouth which is a bit of a hassle as I use my car during the week for work, so if it's cheap and easy I'm tempted to try it locally first.

Had an X-type with same problem.Cheap fix to replace the switch on top of the gearbox and very easy to do.If I remember its on lhs looking from front and down on top of gearbox.Cost around £10 and took five minutes to fit.Ford made the X-type so I'd imagine the same design.
