Playing of CDs

Featured Replies

Hi

On my new Fiesta, when a CD is inserted/ejected in/out of the player slot, the bottom (playing side)of the disc rubs against the bottom edge of the slot, which I'm not too happy about. Even though I haven't yet noticed any resultant scratch damage to a CD, was wondering whether this is the same for everyone, or is it maybe due to poor alignment of the CD player mechanism with the facia when the car was assembled, which could possibly be corrected by the dealer. Also, the CD playing volume level is noticeably lower than that from the FM/AM radio, haven't yet tried the AUX USB input.

Would appreciate hearing what other new Fiesta owners have found.

Cheers

dont play many cd's but have found when i do the volume is a lot lower than the radio ,as for the inserting of a cd i think mines the same but its not anything im worried about as it only like a furry material that it slides against?

Have just checked my CD player again, and on mine it's the bottom edge of the silver plastic facia slot that discs rub against on their way in and out. Although this edge is smooth it is of course hard, rather than soft furry material, hence my slight concern about scratching the playing sides of CDs.

Anyone else noticed this, or is is that perhaps the mechanism is not very well aligned with the slot in my car?

It sounds like your drive is misaligned, take it back for a checkup. Mine is dead centre in my slot.

I haven't played all that many cds yet but it all sounds good to me so far.

Driving along blasting out Bowie's "Earthling" album is sublime!!

Try it out folks....you won't be disappointed. :)
