Mondeo replacement fob

Featured Replies

Previously posted in general discussion.

Hi all

In need of some assistance please.

I have a 2011 Mondeo with keyless start. The spare key fob has not worked for a while now, despite replacing the battery. Whilst being serviced by ford recently, I asked them to check it. Ford confirmed the fob was faulty and would require replacement. I was quoted £250 which I accepted because I wanted peace of mind of the spare key.

However, ford were unable to sync the new fob with the car and after 3 days with ford technical assistance they diagnosed a faulty keyless module that would also require replacement .... A further £350, making £600 for a working spare key. Peace of mind at a cost!

Anyway, i stopped them at this point and no charge as they were unable to complete the repair.

I would however still like the security of a spare fob. What other options do I have for replacing fob and keyless module other than returning to Ford?

Thanks
