Newbie with a couple of questions

Featured Replies

Hi All,

We've just acquired a 2004 Fiesta Finesse 1.2 from within the family. It's clearly a basic model, but it's good for our needs. I have some questions - I've done some searching, but I'm not sure I've found everything. Anyway, I've got the following questions:

1. It's a 2004 model, which makes it a Mark 6, right?

2. It has a basic CD/Radio in it. What's the best way of plugging my iPod in to it? I'm not a big fan of the wireless FM transmitters - looking for a wired solution. Does the Ford "Y" cable work in this model - I'm not sure it's applicable to my Fiesta? Is there some kind of Aux input on the back of the radio I can use?

3. Is it easy to fit cruise control? I very easily (and cheaply) retro-fitted this to my Picasso - it was a case of buying a second-hand switch, plugging it in to an existing socket on the steering column, and getting the dealer to enable it on the ECU. Is it that easy on a Fiesta?

TIA

Can only part answer this one really. No, the Y Cable is for the newer aux/usb interface on the MK7. Not sure if your radio/cd will have an aux input though. May be a case of an upgrade.

Correct :D
