I know, was a bit of a nightmare actually because I didn't take into account that mine had 3 seatbelt anchors and the recaro's only have cut outs for 2 and you can't just unbolt the anchor for the centre seat so had to hacksaw it off to get seats to fit. No fun tho if it's too easy!!!

I so so wanted a set when I only had two kids but since I now have three 😅 well i can't afford them anyways.

I know how it feels mate, I've been there, even had a Renault Scenic at 1 point , mine have got their own cars now tho so back seat never gets used. It was a cheap swap, only £60 on ebay, hopefully fronts won't break the bank!!

loving the rear recaro seat I am thinking of doing this to mine but the cloth recaros front and rear but still not sure. love the  trim lol

Cheers mate, the guy who I got the rear seat from is selling a set of front and rear Recaro's too, in cloth, they are grey with a kind of electric blue trim, he wants £250 for the lot but I'm sure he'd take £200 cos they're in his dining room & said his Mrs wants them gone asap. They looked pretty mint too, he's in Crewe if any interest to you?

Wheels fitted now, like the look but it's crying out to be lowered now tho, looks like a 4x4 at the moment. In 2 minds tho cos I've got rear diffuser and front lip going on in next week or so and don't want to be hitting speed bumps etc??20160914_192500.jpg

cheers for the heads up fella but think I will wait until next year but it does sound tempting. Looking good with the alloys on once you have the front and rear skirt it will give the whole car a great transformaction.

Hope so, I'll put some photos up when they're fitted. Just been looking at your build thread and like the look of the crystal repeaters on the mirrors and it's something I'd like to do, I assumed they are an aftermarket item so was wondering if they're a good fit and quality?

Like the look of yours btw, big transformation from standard

cheers

cheers fella. yea the crystal repeaters are a after market parts they do mist up a little bit in winter but apart from that imo they are a good fit and make a difference.

here is a link to where you can get them from http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk/fo-foc-3100-ford-focus-mk3-2008-mondeo-mk4-2008-crystal-black-smoked-side-repeaters.html

Those units are designed for use with the Chinese touch screen headunits only.

the Sony headunits don't have a usb or aux port in the back of them.

the existing aux port in the glovebox has a bespoke plug that is part of the loom connecting to the headunit

and the only usb if fitted will be part of your Bluetooth module which is fitted above the glovebox inside the dashboard.

See some pictures in this guide:

I've upgrade the entire audio entertainment system yes i have netflix, DVB TV and 4G WiFi 😉and replaced the 12v socket inside the armrest with a straight swap usb & aux port socket.

Ford version was this one in image below👇 but now outdated as the lid won't close if iPhone is fitted in cradle

Not exactly.

You can still fit one of these if you have a Ford Sony stereo, you just need to have one that's been build after Oct.2008 - you can see the build date on the sticker on top of the stereo and also, you can easily identify the unit by looking at the CD-INFO / INFO button. If it says only "INFO", then it most likely supports bluetooth interface that also supports USB/iPod playback and also BT streaming.

To check if you have bluetooth module installed, you can just look at your stereo controls under the steering wheel - if there is a "VOICE" button on top, then you have bluetooth module installed. It's possible, however, that the bluetooth module itself doesn't have USB port on the back, which can be easily taken care of by replacing the module. eBay is full of proper modules - you can see that it has two connectors on it - on system connector and one mini USB - which is exactly the one needed for the USB/AUX socket mentioned before.

As far as AUX goes (which I wouldn't even care for if I had USB/iPod), you can still use the original Ford plug in the glove compartment, or you can route it to the USB/AUX socket.

Hope this clears the issue a bit. No need to purchase new stereo system just to make USB/iPod working.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll buy the adapter and even if I can't connect the usb I should be able to get a cable with a headphone jack on both ends, then connect 1 end to the aux in the glove box and route it down behind the stereo and plug the other end into the back of the adapter next to the heated screen switches because the main thing I want is to be able to connect my phone without having to use the glove box aux (which is a crazy place to put it in the first place). Seems like this should work, worth a try at least

You're welcome ;) ... buy the cable with 90° connector, at least on one end, otherwise you won't be able to close the glovebox properly - the connector will be in the way. Really a terrible place to put it, I agree.

I used the route via the aux 3.5mm in glovebox with angled aux cable into that switch .then you need feed from the aux switch's male usb into power outlet .
