Hi all 

Iv just joined this group as im a massive ford fan, and the escort in particular.

being in my mid 30s... and with kids, my passion has had to be put on the back burner for a few years.

iv just bought an Escort Gti in radiant red 97' plate and when i sat in it it was like when i was 18 again in my 1.8 Ghia x.

It has the usual sil and front wing issues , but the inner sils have gone so its a bit more of an issue.

I also used to be a ford mechanic

many yrs ago so if i see a post and i can help il try my best

    My first car was an Escort too! 1991 1.6 GLX!  It had quite a few electrics for the time but no power steering, of all things :dry:  And it was a pain having to remember to bring the tiny immobiliser fob with me and then not lose it.  And because I am tall, I had to sit with my head in the sunroof well, which hurt my neck after a while.  It had also clearly been clocked and it cost me a sweet £650.

    And yet, I still loved it.
