Headlight Question

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Do any of you know if there is a way to adjust the headlights on my 2009 fiesta so that the car can be used in france without using the headlight deflector stickers they sell in halfords?

Thanks In Advance

bout to go wash me car...will have a look.

The type of headlight projectors on the ford are normally able to switch between the two sides, the mercs/BMWs etc mostly are able to do that.

Normally a toggle/manual lever on the back of the headlight, sometimes requiring removal.

Will have a look as I said!

Hey, just looked.

If it does work, it would involve removal of the headlamp unit.

Then, by the looks o things, the dip beam lense is secured in the unit by 3/4 torx screws.

But on inspection it looks like there is more than one possible hole for the screws to hold the lens with...so in theory, you take the screws out, turn the lens to the other hole setting and then it would have altered the pattern of the beam.

I suggest IF you going to give this a go, you do the o/s first, as the n/s lamp is little trickier to remove, and do it in a garage in the dusk/dark so when you think you have done it, you can test it and clearly see if the pattern of the beam has changed or not.

Let us know how it goes...does seem to be a lot of effort but those sticky things can leave permanant residue sometimes.

There's nothing in the Owner's Handbook about there being a facility to centre the beams so you'd have to use stickers over the lights. I presume these can be bought from a Ford Dealer, but i've never seen them advertised.

Also make sure you have a first aid kit and warning triangle plus a high-vis jacket. You can buy these in a kit from Ford Dealers. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-FORD-PRE...=item2a02500df6

usually its only the hd lights that have an adjuster.

good points made there...also need a spare bulb kit, its law now overseas and maybe soon here too!

And i may give it a go a some point this week as going abroad next year for the rally, so wana know for myself! Will kp posted on results!
