titanium spec

Featured Replies

few questions about my titanium. 1) should it have a sunglasses holder on the drivers side above door? 2) what should be in the boot, should it have a spare wheel or a wheel jack? cheers

1. Not sure

2. Spare wheel is optional extra - standard equipment is the tyre inflation kit. You don't get a jack unless you have the optional spare wheel, becasue in theory you'll never need to change a wheel with the inflation kit.

1. Yes but have to order it like I did.

2. Spare wheel also ordered, now £30 or you tyre inflate kit

1) - i only ask as there is a moulding in the roof line and it looks like something has been stuck there with some type of glue.

2) - i got the inflation kit, is this the stuff with the foam that ruins a potentially repairable tyre? at least theres the space for a spare, easy enough to pick up a cheapy, think i'll do this instead of the inflation gizmo. cheery

well when i specced my Focus ST i had it without the spare wheel becasue it takes up so much boot space, but for some weird reason i am having one in the Fiesta. Anyway, you're right about using the supplied tyre-glue. The stuff in the Continental tryre glue bottle renders the tyre unusable if you use it, and it;s MEGA expensive to buy a replacement bottle from Ford. So what i have in the boot of the Focus is 2 bottles of the washable tyre repair glue from Halfords, cost about £10 for 2 containers, whereas the Ford/Continental stuf is about £45! If i ever get a puncture i can use the cheap stuff, i can inflate the tyre using the Ford compressor, then take the tyre to maybe get repaired if it's possible and the Halfords glue can be washed out. Some tyre places will refuse to change a tyre which has had the permanent tyre weld in it becasue of the mess it creates :(

cheapo steel wheel and tyre for me i think, anyone want to buy a can of ford tyre glue and tyre inflator? lol!!

Do all Fiestas have the spare wheel "well" in the boot? Is it a case of simply sticking a spare, plus jack and brace into it? Or, is it like the Focus, which requires the addition of the polystyrene spare wheel well plus a mounting point for the tie-down bolt to be welded in?

Don't forget you'll need to bolt the spare down in case you are in an accident - a wheel weighing >10kg being launched forward could be a pretty lethal missile lol

I think i'll be keeping my tyre kit from the ST and sticking that in the Fiesta, especiualy if it's raining or dark, nothing worse than changing a wheel in hose conditions lol

BTW, the tyre inflators are quite expensive, if you're thinking of selling it make sure you get a good price ;)

1 I think the space above the drivers door is for the grab handle on left hand drive versions. The sunglasses holder seems to be up with the interior lights/map spots except if you have the voice control the microphone sits here instead.

2 standard is the tyre repair kit/compresser. If you want a spare wheel you can order one for 30 pounds from new it's about 150 pound to get a spare and the jack and brace retrospectively. I have ordered a full size alloy as the spare which will cost about 180pound with a tyre but non of the skinny wheel nonsense.
