Boot rattle?

Featured Replies

Good evening all,

Closed my boot today and noticed there is a rattling noise coming from the boot. There is definatly something inside behind the plastic on the right side of the lock, was tapping around and noticed it was that side.

Did a search because i remember someone talking about a rattle in their cars but couldnt find it.

Anyone know what it is or how it can be solved? Dont really want to go to the garage tomorrow really!

Thanks

Ben

Bump :)

Hi there Nipz. I have a sort of squeek from my boot whenever I go over bumps in the road. Havent really investigated it yet but It sounds like its coming for drivers side rear wing, although I am obviousley in the drivers seat when the noise happens so I could be a bit out. Fairly certain that its coming from inside the car as opposed to the suspension. Might be able to locate where it is if I push the car up and down from the boot.

There is one other rattle that I get and It comes from the plastic trim around the tiny window on the drivers side of the dash. If I press that trim while its rattling it stops, so maybe a clip is loose or something

Anybody else got this in their Mk.VII's?

My squeak was from the metal bracket for the rear seat. Put your rear seats down and drive about and see if it still squeaks. the bracket may need its height adjusted.

Yeah I noticed that you had mentioned that in another topic, think I might nip out now and check it out!

did it myself with some clear plastic washers to pack it out .did not want to imbarise the service manager again
