Well would you believe it?!?!

Dealer phoned me up yesterday (my birthday as it happened) to tell me that the build date for my car is confirmed as the 18th of this month. At last!

I ordered it several years ago now (or so it seems) and if it hadn't been for my signature below - I'd have forgotten the specs!

I won't get it (apparently) until w/e 9th January - due to Xmas/New Year. Dealer did say however that if they can find room on a vessel before this date then they will ship it over from Germany earlier.

Chuffed to bits I've finally got a date - at last. I do love some of the cars & colours you guys & gals have on here - but I gotta say: I am extremely pleased that I ordered what I personally think is THE snazziest most-vibrant colour there is for the new Fiesta - Squeeze. Especially with the full bodykit on it too. ;)

So - merry Christmas & a happy New Year to....er.....ME!!! :D

Thanks bashful. I've waited the best part of 5 months! Kept getting fobbed-off with "There's a severe shortage of side skirts" to "There's a severe shortage of body kits" to "Aliens have landed at the Ford factory in Cologne & abducted all the workers". Okay - so the last one I made up - but it's the only excuse my dealer didn't use!!!

That sounds like an outrageous wait you've had! Congrats on getting sorted though B)

Build date and built on schedule in Cologne on Nov. 20th 2009

Delivery Estimate: 15th December 2009

So as long as this post doesn't scud me, I'll be driving mine in under two weeks and I ordered it just over 3 weeks ago :D

Ordered on the 12th November, built on the 17th November and delivery estimate is between 5th Dec ( Saturday ) to the 12th Dec ( Next Saturday )!

Boy am I gonna love the drive down to Devon on Boxing day! My partner has just bought a Mini One too, which is due to be built this week.

Reading through the old threads I can't believe how much you've been messed around Nightowl! You must have the patience of a saint, because there's no way I'd have been able to wait that long. Oh well not too long left now until you can forget all about it and enjoy the awesomeness of the fez and how good it looks dressed up... a builder tapped on my window today just to tell me that he thought my car looked nice!

I've had a few rows/heated exchanges with my dealer over the weeks - let me tell you! I have come very close to cancelling my order on more than one occassion & indeed told him to "shove it up his arris" just a few weeks ago. But like Silent Shark says elsewhere on the forum; I have read many (countless infact) reviews of all the new cars out there & nothing really seems to come close to the new new Fiesta. All the motoring magazines/websites rant & rave about how good it is, the drive, handling, design, yadda yadda yadda - so I decided to stick with it 'til the bitter end. I have to say though that my dealership won't be getting a Christmas card from me this year - the gits!
