Rypwp
Hi all, I'm new to the blue oval and new to this forum. Just like opinions on a timing belt and water pump kit I've found for sale on eBay It's a genuine gates kit for £86 from what looks a to be a reputable eBay company with over 4.5k positive feedback. I've been quoted by my local autopart store at £145 for the same kit.
nazsky786
ST timing belts are normally around £100+ that's including the water pump. Check prices with both Volvo and Ford. Only issue with eBay is warranty claims say the pump goes back and needs to be return it's better to have a store then having to deal with postage etc. Saying that the garage who supplies the parts will have to deal with all issues. Depends on what you want to do but £86 is good price I paid £140 for mine.
Ken.K
Am getting mine done soon so will follow this. Ford is 600 quid to change these. Do you need to change the tensioners as wellSent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
Rypwp
Think I'll do a bit more shopping around tomorrow and see what best deal I can find. It's maybe worth paying the extra £60 to buy it from a person/shop rather than off eBay. My local ford dealership wanted £310 for the kit 🙈
Rypwp
Ken.K my local garage quoted me £350 for supplying parts and fitting. I'm just trying to see if I can save a few quid by buying the parts myself. He told me he was charging around £170 labour

My mileage is coming up to 78k so just want to do it with the servicing as well. So incase I do sell it will be all nice and dandy.
