Ford Fiesta Oil Issues

Featured Replies

I drive a ford fiesta 1.4 TDCi 58 plate and I bought it in September 2016 with 87k on the clock. I have had issues with smoke coming out of the exhaust which smells a lot like oil and the MOT tester said before even carrying out tests that the car would fail on emissions, so I had it checked out by a garage and they replaced the turbo charger and oil filter. A few weeks after my car still smokes and I went back to them and now they said the EGR valve is leaking so I need a new one. I am not sure as to whether it is worth changing it. The turbo job cost me 600 and now I've been quote 400 for this job. Will my car survive without the change?

You might be better off blanking the EGR valve if possible which I'm sure it will be, someone will confirm this, this will only cost about £10 at most and you could fit it yourself, also Terraclean will do a wonder for emissions for around £90-£110
