Unwell Fez?

Featured Replies

Driving home tonight I noticed that when I changed gear the car kept on jerking forward. I've also noticed the car juddering when I'm driving along in 3rd, 4th & 5th gear. Any ideas? :(

Edit: Could be it a missfire problem which is usually down to plugs, leads or the coil pack?

Has it been intermittent? like if you went out now would it still do the same thing?

Yes, I just had another drive around in the car and it did the same thing. :(

Well took it in today at 7:30 in the morning.. and at 16:30 they phoned to say they couldn't fix it so need to keep it 'in' over night. :( So... had her for just over 2 weeks and she's being repaired. :(

aww poor you...sounds like a fuel mapping gone wrong there, or a TPS

Any news mate?

Called them at 16:00. They've run a number of tests on it but still cannot find any faults. They've even taken it out and still cannot see anything wrong with it, which is strange! They've said I'll have to take them out for a drive in it to show them what is wrong! I don't even get a courtesy car.

At what point do I say that a month old car shouldn't be having these problems? I need the car by Friday as going to Manchester but at the moment Ford aren't giving me an answers. Will be going in early in Thursday to try and help them(!) find the problem so I can have it back that day. :(

Sounds like a typical Ford dealer - not interested in fixing problems and just trying to fob you off. Go for a test drive with the workshop manager. You should definitely get a courtesy car - this is silly stuff to be happening on a 1 month old car.

Just called them to 'be firm' and have been told that the car is fine and I can pick it up tomorrow morning. Will be going straight back if it isn't perfect!

You're right... it's too new to be having problems.

I accept cars will break down and things will go wrong, but are these not checked before they're passed over to the owner?

erm....not any more....50-60% or product testing is now done after the item has been produced and sold...IE the customer doing the testing!! Goes same for all things, phones, cars, software...all to do with greed, getting the money!!

Could it be a bad batch of fuel?????Making it run a bit lumpy????

actually...could be true...but it made me think of a conversation last week with my fellow petrol blooded friend...he was saying new ECUs remap to suit the style of the driver...just a thought :)

TESCO :o

I hope it was at least tesco ultimate?!? Still an ultimare!!

I don't put anything less than shell in me motors, diesel and petrol, get more MPG, and smoother engine, everytime :)

Plus here in Hereford shell is often cheaper than tesco and sainsbugs!

The fuel likely to be it bud! :)

Shove full tank of Shell ultimate and see if it does it! :)
