FMC
After various problems and failed promises from a rather useless dealer, we've had to cancel our Zetec-S order and re-order at another place :( What this means is we're not going to get a Fiesta until the new year. We're getting exactly the same spec (luckily a new factory order wasn't needed becasue there was one unsold in dealer stock in Leicester) but having to pay slightly more for it. Bummer. But on the bright side, I get to keep the ST through Christmas :P Next 2 weeks are going to be the hardest 2 weeks it will ever have!!!! And to anyone who's just bought my cancelled Zetec-S (VIN Number: WF0GXXGAJG9D13324) I hope you enjoy it <_<
Jonny87
what were the issues with the dealer? and how much longer would you have had to wait for your factory order? also what is the spec difference?

FMC
Thanks all - my patience is really being tested lol No difference in spec - we're getting exactly the same - just that the "replacement" awas built a week later than the original. We cancelled becasue the dealer refused to supply the car unwashed, and without us signing a disclaimer to waive any rights. Not sure this was entirely legal, but they were adamant, as was i! They also changed their minds on fitting the Eibachs, claiming they were not a Ford approved part and that it would invalidate our warranty. Despite me pointing out that they WERE approved by the very fact that Ford have given them a part number, they couldn't seem to get it into their thick heads that this was a simple Ford accessory that should have been fitted without any hassle. I suppose the fact they are "motability specialists" and don;t deal with customers who want something other than the standard service, we were seen as "awkward" and made to feel very dissatisfied with the service. All we wanted was the car without it being washed and a Ford accessory fitted, but this proved too much hassle for them! All this procrastination meant that the registration paperwork was delayed to such an extent that we couldn't be guaranteed a pre-Christmas delivery, so I told them I was fed up with it all and told them to shove it! I may have ended up cutting my nose off to spite my face becasue we aren't getting quite as good a deal becasue we had price protection on October's economics with our part-ex. But the overall cost is only £4 a month different, and that's well worth it for a satisfied feeling! The new car comes in January - it would be here next week if it wasn't for Christmas, but the transporters are all booked up and the holidays make it impossible to expedite. Just got back from the dealership after signing the paperwork :)

God I miss my ST :( lol nice try Dai! :P But i doubt you'd be happy to have me put some hard miles on your car - it'd need new tyres and brakes if i was to use (read as 'abuse') it for 2 weeks Saying that though, the ST will need tyres before long, so i need to try and look after them before it gets part ex'd, otherwise the dealer might not be too happy lol

Just got back from the dealership after signing the paperwork :) They're control freeks! plain and simple "We will wash your car" "You can't put that accessory on your car" They'll lick your !Removed! right up untill you place the order, then after that they feel the need to express their supreme authority As far as washing the car goes I never even bothered to stop them, cos I knew even if they agreed not to, at some point it would probably get washed "accidentally" "Sorry sir we didnt realise the valet had started to wash it until it was too late" (you just know that this would happen!) (please dont start an oil change / running in debate, but...) I decided that I wanted an oil change on my car between new and it's first service at about 6k, just to benefit the engine from getting the crap out that is caused from running in. My salesman and the receptionist looked at me as if I was fisting a granny in front of them!! Even the receptionist chipped in "Oh didn't you know that it doesn't need an oil change untill the first service, we wont be changing it till then" I mean what the hell does she know? anyways, rant over

Dealer expects it to arrive w/e 9th Jan. "Ooh - but if we can find enough space on the ship from Germany before then - we may get it a little earlier." Yeah - right. Week ending 9th Jan it is then! FMC
ST is too expensive to run and maintain with only one income, simple. Plan was to chop it in for an RS back in August/September, but redundancy put paid to that idea. !Removed! happens But the Fiesta should bring a whole new level of enjoyment (and spare cash lol)
