Tyre size for 1600 Ford Focus zetec

Featured Replies

I brought a 3 year old 1600 ford focus zetec about 4 weeks ago and have just noticed it has 205/55/16 on the rear and 225/50/16 on the front the dealer has told me this is ok when i spoke to him. Some people at work have said its ok and others not, any thoughts thanks.

Regards Dave.

Hi, should not be a problem if you keep them on the same axle, BTW it is illegal to mix them anyway! It is better that you have the 225's on the front, 225 is the effective width of the tyre and will obviously give more grip that the 205. The other bit 55/50 is the profile.
