Car Alarm/Bonnet Sensor issue

Featured Replies

Many thanks Unofix for this message, that is very kind.

I might take it off the car and make sure this is the same as the eBay one kindly listed by TomsFocus. I think you are saying this is OK to buy? I'll remove it and post a photo.

Also after disconnecting the battery for a couple of days does anything need resetting to make the car start? I don't think so but have been reading many posts on different forums saying about a reset.

Car will start just fine when the battery is reconnected. No radio code required. You might have to reset the one touch window opening if you have that on your model.

Many thanks so tomorrow I need to find the fuse or relay in case they have failed. I’ve the small owners book and google and armed with the correct model of car I should be able to get it going.

There are no fuses or relays for the car alarm.

I think you may have missed part of an earlier post.  They disconnected the battery to prevent the alarm going off overnight.  Since reconnecting the battery, the car will not start again.

I’ve had the same problem with mine for the last couple of days I just unplugged it and bridged the sensor with a bit of cable for a short term fix

Bridgesld the little wire you pull out of the socket you mean? Cheers
