Vibration at 60mph and over

Featured Replies

Hi. Looking for advice.  I have a 2010 focus Zetec 1.8 petrol manual car which idles high, has a high clutch bite and vibrates via the engine when I drive over 60mph.  My mechanic unfortunately couldn't diagnose the issue however thought it was the inlet manifold letting in air however further mechanical advice has said this is unlikely. Getting frustrated so looking to see if anyone else could shred some light into this fault? Thanks

The clutch is quite high on these Focus's as standard so that may not be an issue.  If it doesn't slip and you're able to get gears easily it's probably fine.

How high is the idle?  It often is extra air getting in, usually through a split vacuum hose somewhere.  Did he run any diagnostic tests and give any fault codes?
