defroster switch help

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, I have a 2007 fiesta freedom, last week I Pressed both the windscreen & rear screen defroster switches, I can turn off the windscreen switch but the rear screen switch is stuck in & on, the only way I can turn it off is by turning the engine off & back on again but the switch still remains stuck in, any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank You

I believe the heater is on a timer anyway so even if you cannot actually push the switch after 7minutes? i believe the heated screen turns itself off.

Still under warrenty? Take it back make a fuss.

That switch is a well known problem. The mechanics just remove the surrounding plastic panel and lightly buff off a little plastic off the panel to stop it jamming the square button ;-- 10 min job. In my car it was the bottom of the panel aperture. The button would pop-out when the heater got the panel warm, anyway.
