Lovely, nice to see another black zetec s. Mine got a good valet today as well, the alloys look so much better when they are clean. Nice personal regi as well. What cleaning products did you use mate?

Magnificent work, excellent car, lovely coastline! :D

thanks for the comments guys, yea coastline is great, only a mile from my doorstep to that pull in.

The products i used today were dodo juice born to be mild shampoo, using the wookies fist to clean it off , used a dodo supernatural drying towel to dry and some bilberry on the alloys for the dirt , dodo's captain crevice gave me a hand on the alloy cleaning lol.

I then used Durogloss Aqua Wax to finish off using a dodo microfibre cloth.

Looking good Ade B)

Love the shot overloooking the sea :)

I hate you!!

It looks stunning mate, now my bit of snow has gone, it's above freezing, it's raining.................. :( :( :( :(    :o :o

One day I'll get to use me wax........ one day........ mind you I need to get some clay at the end of the month, well payday. Anyone got any recommendations to go with my dodo wax?

ive not washed my white fiesta for about 3 months , its way to cold ,i think i will wait until febuary or maybe march

Welshade - Very nice there. Looks really good. A black car always looks really good when clean.

MarkyR - Meguiars Clay kit has always done me well. You can pick it up in Halfords etc.. You get 2 clay bars, a storage box, a microfibre cloth, a wax sample, and a quick detailer spray. All this for about £25-£30 Here

mitch84 - I would at least take it to a petrol station or the like and give it a quick blast with the pressure washer to get most of the dirt off, Don't use the brush etc, just a quick blast to get most of the crap and salt off and make it a bit easier when you do come to wash.

WelshAde - The car looks fantastic...a black car when its cleaned and polished always looks good, Hence why i miss my black MK6. :D (Just a little though)

however i'm a little with Mich84, a white car, rain and snow means its not looking so white at the mo, but if it is too cold for me to wash then i am idle and get someone else to wash it but they never do as good of a job as myself! This time they decided to just avoid my mudflaps...1 clean car 4dirty white Mudflaps! ARGHHH :(

Too cold to wash? You wimps

Welsh Ade - looks great and very nice choice of products.

Gaz - I can't go along with your Megs clay kit recommendation - it's overpriced and the clay is milder than mild. Sonus Green clay bars with Dodo Born to be Slippy lube work out much cheaper and actually shift stuff

I will need to give that combo a go Dan, i got a good deal on the Megs via Ebay (£15). I always thought it shifted loads as the clay was always needing turned, Will buy some Sonus for the spring and see how they compare :D I must say though, when i first starting detialing the car, i was Megs daft, its not only until i stared reading these forums and DW that i realise what a mistake that was

Cheers Dan, the durogloss aqua wax was down to your recommendation and its superb, i used it after washing and drying. Its rained today and the water is just running off.

This is my job next sunday morning in time for the meet, even if it's !Removed! it down it WILL be done!!

£25-£30! :o I paid £15 for mine in the local store on normal offer, no special. And the wax sample is rubbish!

I can't recommend putting a pressure washer on a car that is covered in grit and salt - you'll blast the crap across the paintwork and inflict multiple scratches and cause lots of damage that you can't initially see. Far better to use the snow-foam approach first at home, to loosen crap.

The Megs clay is okay, but as mentioned, it can take a bit longer to pick stuff up. You should have seen the colour of my clay after attacking just the bonnet on my dad's 1999 Focus that has never been detailed since being made ... disgusting it was! Would have taken less time with my AutoGlym clay, but didn't want to open it just yet :)

I think Halfords is about £25. Got mine off Ebay for £15 also. The wax is OK but nothing compared to Dodo Hard Candy. Will defiantly need to try some Sonus. I am going to have some list to be buying

Liquid/synthetic waxes look good initially, but last badly and still don't look as good as a decent wax. A reasonable stop-gap I suppose? And it looks like Halfords have slapped a £10 increase on that box then :(

Yeah, lists of cleaning gear do add up quickly. I've spent hundreds of pounds on cleaning equipment in the last two years and have finally settled on some key bits. Could do with a pressure washer and lance for snow foam, but the rotary polisher kit I bought was the best move I made :)

Actually went through my cleaning gear the other week totaling it up and it came to almost £380  Think of what i could of bought with that  How do you find the rotary?, i got a DA for xmas which i have yet to use, scrap panel first before it goes anywhere near the car

Rotary polishing is a piece of cake. I didn't bother with a scrap panel - you honestly have no need for one if you use some common sense and watch/read some guides first. I used my mother's 2002 Corsa SXi and father's 1999 Focus Zetec for some practice - where someone put a boot to my mum's rear wing, it now looks perfect; bonnet on the Focus looks exceptional; rear wing on the Focus had a 3ft keying scratch, now 95% barely visible (only from specific angles!).

So long as you start slow and work it up to the max, you'll be fine. Just remember to move it about at a slowish speed and to do a good few passes in a decent sized area (not too big or small) and you can't get it wrong.
