Wheeler Dealer Challenge

Featured Replies

Hi All,

OK so this is based on something that I am looking into doing when I get some money come through towards the end of the year and was hoping to get a few ideas off other people out there.

If you have seen the show wheeler dealers you will know how this works, if not then here is a short explanation:

Basically you have a set amount of money, in this case £2000 and with that money you have to buy a car and do any work to it that might improve the value of the car to be sold on for profit. However what I want to do is rather than improve the value I want to do the car up for personal enjoyment/comfort.

The challenge is this:

You have £2000 to buy a fiesta and do it up with whatever you see fit to make it look good and the ride comfortable.

The car costs £500 and is a 1997 Mk 4 1.25l Encore 5 door Fiesta – nothing has been modified from factory standards

What you do with the remaining £1500 to modify the fiesta is up to you.

I would just buy a £2000 fiesta,

would be newer

better spec

more reliable

you wont have to waste loads of time sourcing a fitting parts

Dave

same here i wouldnt pay 2k for a 14year old fiesta even if you plated it in gold. lol

Run it into the floor and beyond>

Invest £1500 in a savings account > and buy another £500 banger when the 1st one dies....4 years of good motoring there..:)

You could probably get a 51 plate Zetec S for £2000 and that would probably be far better than you could improve the '97 car to in the first place. It would have a bigger engine, they're pretty well specced and look good too. :)
